We understand that the loss of a baby is an unimaginable experience, and we are deeply sorry for your loss. During this time, we want to support you in every way possible, providing the time and space you need to grieve and heal.
Time away from work
If you experience a loss at any stage of pregnancy or in the early stages of your baby’s life, we can support you with the time you need away from work to focus on your emotional and physical well-being.
- paid leave: you can use up to 10 days of paid leave, during which you will receive your full salary. In addition, if you need further time away from work, you are able to use **compassionate leave.**
- flexible return: we understand that grief is a personal journey, when you feel ready to return, we will work with you to create a flexible return plan
Emotional support
- Spill: in addition to your 3 sessions you can access an additional 3 sessions with a therapist who specialises in grief and loss. Please speak to your manager or the People team so these can be added to your Spill profile.
Communication
We respect your privacy and will handle all matters related to your loss with the utmost confidentiality.
- respecting your wishes: if and when you feel ready, we will discuss how you would like this matter to be communicated to your colleagues, or if you prefer not to share
Further assistance
- if you feel that you need more time, additional unpaid leave or a phased return to work can be arranged in consultation with your manager.
