🌎 What is work away?
It’s a great way to spend more time with family or travel without using up all your holiday, it lets you blend work with life experiences, so you can enjoy both at the same time.
- you can take up to 10 days per year to work anywhere
- this is prorated if working part-time, compressed hours or fixed term contracts
đź“… How to use it
- you can take the 10 days in one go or multiple trips throughout the year
- to further extend your time away you can combine with annual leave (to be discussed and agreed with your manager)
- the allowance follows the leave year, so from January to December and if not used can’t be rolled over
đź“ť What you need to do
- give your manager reasonable notice for planning purposes (at least a month where possible)
- be open to discussion around plans if your initial request can’t be agreed or where there maybe some challenges
- check tax implications or insurance when working outside of the UK and any other local regulations before making a request (important to note this remains your responsibility and not CareScribes)
